After a mammoth audition process which saw the production team audition over 100 hopefuls including 15 Dorothys, the cast can finally be revealed. The production team had an incredibly difficult task as the array of talent that walk through the auction doors was staggering. Next stop rehearsals. We hope to see so many of you next March over the Rainbow and on the Yellow Brick Road.
It is with immense sorrow that we learned about the passing of Helen Williamson, cherished friend and society member.
Helen, along with her husband Paul, had been an active performing member of Mansfield Operatics for a number of years, eventually joining our committee, where she supported us greatly with her years of personal and professional knowledge and experience.
Taking on the role of Child Protection Officer, Helen dedicated herself to ensuring the safety and well-being of the children performing in our society, with tireless effort, empathy, and unwavering commitment.
She was a friend to all, known for her warm smile, welcoming approach, and genuine concern for others. Whether offering a listening ear, lending a helping hand, or simply brightening someone's day, Helen had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel valued, accepted, and loved.
Helen will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
After 3 days of auditioning and an array of talent, we can finally announce the cast for our production of Kinky Boots.

We would like to say a big thank you to you our audience who came to see Oklahoma, as your generosity means we have been able to donate £1014 to the Disaster Emergency Committee who are helping the people of Ukraine.
We sadly lost Margo one of our long standing members this week after a short illness. Our thoughts go out to her family at this sad time. Below is a tribute to Margo and her dedication to the Ops.
A tribute to Margot,
Margot was a loyal member of the Ops and a good friend. Not a lot of you will know, along with others, Margot worked tirelessly for the society to get it back on its feet.
When we were left with only £12000 in the bank by our previous committee many years ago, and the knowledge that they wanted to close down the Ops.for good, the fighting spirit from members, which Margot was one, came through and made us what we are today.
Margot could turn my ideas into reality, food for 'Oliver,' a talking head for 'Me and my Girl,' goats for 'The Sound of music'. She, Rita and Norman were a force to be reckoned with, it was hard to keep up with the requests for barbed wire, boxes, Arran sweaters( to make a cake and to unwind for the goats coat) crates, material to make flags, it was endless, but it was fun!!
She also went round the old people's homes and sold tickets, organised the transport for them to see all of our shows, including "Singin' in The Rain".
When Margot came off committee she started the Mogos (Mansfield Ops Golden Oldies) group for members that had a bus pass and if they were not now performing with us could still feel involved. Meeting up for coffee and going on trips to see other shows was all down to Margot. We will all miss her.
I would just like to tell you what Margot, in long phone calls (59mins.), and I would talk and laugh about.
The time she went home from a rehearsal and tried her dress on that I had given her only to get it on but couldn't get it off. She had to go to bed in it and wait until the morning to be unzipped.
Or thinking she had found a new species of the toad in her drain, an all black one, she suddenly remembered that she had dyed her hair the day before.
I will always remember fondly going round to Margot's, to her immaculate house and garden to find her tidying her lawn edge and hedge with a pair of scissors, having coffee and discussing the on going show. I will miss that.
Margot wasn't always a well women but never showed it when she came to rehearsals.
Margot was a true professional, a loyal member and friend and may her memory live on.
